XVIII is a faithful portrait of the 18th arrondissement of Paris, where photographer Cebos Nalcakan was born and raised, and which he has documented over years of daily life with remarkable consistency and honesty. The book combines photographs with rap lyrics by artists emblematic of the Goutte d’Or neighbourhood.

CEBOS, or Djibril Nalcakan (Encrage photo agency), is a French-Turkish photographer born in 1990. Raised in hip-hop culture and drawn to words and sound since childhood, he found his own language in photography. He is interested in those living at the margins of society, and works to take apart his own stereotypes.
