Tokyo Dragon Sight
TOKYO DRAGON SIGHT, by Valentin Dommanget, presents photographs taken over the past six years, together with a selection of digital paintings and haiku created in collaboration with an artificial intelligence. Together they reveal a personal, nostalgic vision that mingles crystallisation, destruction and rebirth — a contemporary history of Japan.
VALENTIN DOMMANGET was born in 1988 in Châlons-en-Champagne, has lived and worked in Paris, London and Berlin, and has been based in Tokyo since 2020. His practice brings together digital and traditional techniques to create hybrid works linking ancestral evocations with aesthetics drawn from internet culture. His work questions the creative capacity of artificial intelligence within the field of contemporary art.
