Limited to 100 copies, this special edition is available in three versions, each associated with one of the paintings presented by the artist at the Musée de l’Orangerie: Jusqu'où je peux aller, Siloé, and Marcher sur l'eau.

This special edition was conceived to give access to the original works exhibited at the Musée de l’Orangerie, which can never be seen in their entirety within the book itself.

Each version includes the book together with a reproduction of one of the paintings, printed at the same proportions as the original work, numbered and signed by the artist. These prints are produced by Atelier Clot (Paris), renowned for the excellence of its craftsmanship.

As part of the 16th Contrepoint Contemporain at the Musée de l’Orangerie, Alexandre Lenoir presents four new paintings in the exhibition Par la force des choses.

Four Eyes Éditions is pleased to present the painter’s second publication, conceived as an artwork in its own right and as a companion to the exhibition.

Designed as an immersive experience, the book focuses on details and fragments reproduced at a 1:1 scale, inviting readers to enter the paintings themselves. This approach highlights the deeply embodied and material nature of the artist’s practice, making the book a living extension of the exhibition.

Photographs of Alexandre Lenoir in his Paris studio, shot on film in black and white during the creation of the works, further enrich this journey through the paintings and offer insight into the artist’s creative process.

The publication also includes texts by several authors who have played an important role in Alexandre Lenoir’s intellectual and artistic development, offering perspectives from three cultural traditions—French, American, and Chinese. Contributions include a text by Liang Dong (China), researcher, philosopher, and specialist in Chinese culture; Sophie Eloy (France), curator at the Musée de l’Orangerie; Michel Brière (France), theologian, philosopher, and priest of the Diocese of Paris working closely with the art world; and a fourth essay by an American author, to be announced at a later date.

The publication will be released in three languages—French, English, and Mandarin—reflecting the artist’s ties to Paris, New York, and Shunde (mainland China).
