Offside — Special edition

OFFSIDE is one chapter of a larger project on the Paris suburbs and the Seine-Saint-Denis department, commissioned by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BnF). Offside is a breath of air, a joyful project documenting the fervour of the Africa Cup of Nations supporters of Aulnay-sous-Bois.

WILLIAM KEO was born in 1996 into a family of Cambodian refugees in France. He works on migration, social exclusion and intercommunal intolerance. He began photography working for NGOs and has covered the Syrian refugee crisis, the conflict in Darfur, migrants in Europe and the Rohingya humanitarian crisis. Since 2019 he has covered the cycles of violence following the fall of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, as well as French and international news for the press — among them the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, Israel and Palestine. He was represented by Magnum Photos between 2021 and 2024.
