OCTOGONE is the first book by the photographer Xavier Baler, bringing together ten years of work in France. Fashion week, backstage, portraits of public figures, scenes of jubilation, urban unrest and boxing bouts — Octogone is a portrait of France and of its youth.
Xavier B comes from Vitry-sur-Seine, where he was born in 1989. He came to photography through his first passion: graffiti. After more than ten years working with the Paris label Tealer, he widened his practice to fashion photography. He later turned to photojournalism, following the Gilets Jaunes movement in particular. He now divides his time between Marseille and the capital.
