LES CHIENS ERRANTS is a study of ferality — the wild state that follows domestication — through the particular case of dogs in the Atlas mountains of Morocco. A monochrome account, silent and poetic.

FLORIAN SONG NGUYEN — “I began to think about the first abandoned dog, the first one to have lost its usefulness. Rejected by the world of men, yet drawn to it. And so, stories of margins and outlines. Of lives floating between things. (...) Worlds within worlds. Spheres that touch, that live side by side. And I trained them in the forest of my symbols. The urge to plunge into their world and discover how vast it is. That night, the moon rose from behind the mountains like an immense yellow disc. The tracks of their paws pressed down on my thoughts, tightening the knot in my chest a little more each time. The red mountains had prepared the ground, and the earth beneath my feet had turned soft. I let myself be swallowed.”
