The book Flower(s) — Vol. 1 signed by the author, together with a work by the artist in a mount.

Flower(s) — Vol. 1 (I wonder whose skin this crimson flower will touch) is a series of books about flowers by Teresa Freitas. The principle: one country, one flower, one book.

I WONDER WHOSE SKIN THIS CRIMSON FLOWER WILL TOUCH is the first volume of a collection devoted to flowers. For this first edition, Teresa turns to the safflower in Japan (Yamagata prefecture). Working first from a documentary standpoint, the photographer has spent several years looking at flowers, at the trades that revolve around these delicate plants and at the people who grow them. The publication presented here is composed like a poem — more abstract, more silent — in order to convey a particular mood and atmosphere.

TERESA FREITAS (Lisbon, 1990) is a Portuguese photographer and colourist who blends street, documentary and fine-art photography. A researcher and active student of colour.

Prefaces by Inès Longevial (painter), Carolin Ruggaber (floral artist) and Danielle Demetriou (writer).
