Born in Gaza
Born in Gaza is a visual archive created by photographer Olga Stefatou in collaboration with Yousef P., an 18-year-old Palestinian who fled Gaza after several months of war.
Through this intimate testimony, the book traces the life of a young man who grew up in the heart of conflict and is now searching for meaning and stability. Rooted in the present, it explores memory, resilience, and exile — the experience of a generation shaped by war.
Olga Stefatou is a Greek visual artist and photographer based in Athens. Her work blends documentary photography, performance, and self-portraiture. Exhibited internationally (Aga Khan Museum, Benaki Museum, MOMus…), she has collaborated with Der Spiegel, The Economist, and Vanity Fair, and was nominated in 2024 for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award. She currently teaches documentary photography at Akto University (Athens).
