Back to Blue

Back to Blue is a photographic essay by the American photographer Carl Fehres. A collection of surreal color images photographed on film and Polaroid between the Palm Springs desert and the beaches of Deauville.

We created this zine with the intention of staying as true as possible to the spirit of the original darkroom prints. Just like the originals — bold, vibrant, and printed on thick glossy paper — we selected a similarly weighty stock, finished with a glossy UV varnish to bring the colors to life.

There’s no binding, allowing the pages to lay flat with minimal disruption from the fold— perfect for the many images that flow seamlessly across the spread.

Limited to 500 signed and numbered copies including 48 special edition copies.
