Offside
OFFSIDE is one chapter of a larger project on the banlieue and the Seine-Saint-Denis department (93) commissioned by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BnF). Offside is a breathing space, a joyful project documenting the fervour of the CAN (Africa Cup of Nations) supporters of Aulnay-sous-Bois.
WILLIAM KEO was born in 1996 into a family of Cambodian refugees in France. William Keo works on the themes of migration, social exclusion and intercommunal intolerance. He came to photography working for NGOs and has covered the Syrian refugee crisis, the conflict in Darfur, migrants in Europe and the Rohingya humanitarian crisis. Since 2019 he has covered the cycles of violence following the fall of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, and French and international news, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and Israel and Palestine, among others. He was represented by Magnum Photos between 2021 and 2024.
